Ice spiders are exactly like the normal ones, but they have a different color and inject frost oil instead of spider venom
The most important thing for spiders is ensuring that there will be another generation for the spiders. If you already have a lot of them, a steady flow of new spiders is to be expected but if you're just starting out, getting your first kill is the most important part of ensuring the survival of your species.
If you came from xenobio, follow your directives, damnit! They are your most important objective, moreso than other spiders.
Abilities
Laying web
Useable by all spiders, webbed tiles have a chance to ensnare all mobs that aren't spiders, and are also able to block weapon fire. Stack up to three webs on the same tile.
Wrap (Cocoon)
Usable by all spiders, this ability can be used on mobs and objects that aren't anchored to wrap them in sticky webs to prevent the item from being used until broken out. For broodmothers, this ability is also how you feed in order to lay eggs.
Lay eggs
Only for broodmothers - Every cocooned body will feed you, allowing one cluster of eggs to be laid. Feeding on humans allows the eggs to spawn uncommon spiders.

Be aware of the venom!
Spider venom is very intimidating, but not rapidly lethal.* After being bitten you will notice your stamina slowly draining away, but you have about half a minute before the effects start to get serious. Get away from the spiders and seek medical treatment in a safe area. Charcoal and other purgative medicines will quickly remove the venom from your system but will also react with it causing the paralysis to kick in much more rapidly so do not apply these in or immediately before an active combat situation with spiders. When you feel your strength return and have regained your stamina, you're ready to fight more spiders. If a large injection of venom is left untreated, full paralysis may result leaving you as easy prey for the nest to feed upon
*Viper venom is rapidly lethal and immediate application of epinephrine is required for almost any chance of survival. Retreat and seek further treatment immediately.
Kill the spiders with green eyes
Only broodmothers can lay eggs, and only nurses can heal other spiders - both of these can be identified by their green eyes. If you manage to take out the supporting roles from the nest, the rest will fall in matter of time. They still are very venomous so even if you kill them you may find yourself unable to continue fighting afterwards.
Burn it with fire!
Spiders and webs alike burn readily, just be aware that this may also put your fellow spessmans in danger too, so use great caution when employing fire. Filling the waste loop with burning gas may catch some spiders trying to utilize vents unaware, but do not put anything harmful in the main air line or you will be placing the entire station at much greater risk than the spiders pose!
Seal the vents!
Spiders LOVE vents! They use them to get everywhere. They CAN attack doors to get around, but this takes time and also tends to electrocute them.
Avoid webbing
Spider's webbing is their bread and butter, it allows most of them to move faster and will impede your movement at random leaving you vulnerable to their venomous bites. If they can't fight you, the smart ones will recede back into their webbing and taunt you. Don't fall for it!
