Hello, and welcome to the first edition of the Nanotrasen Extranatural Operational Security Handbook (NEOPSEC)! We have chosen you (yes, you!) to be held responsible for the future of this station and its crew. Remember, the harm, mutilation, death, or any other permanent negative characteristic suffered by any personnel under your watch will be deducted from the paychecks on the security and command teams on board!

This guide will provide appropriate countermeasures for the uncommon enemies of Nanotrasen and its associated groups. These methods have been tested by paranormal experts, and we suggest following them to the letter. We here at the Nanotrasen Paranormal Activities and Advanced Seancing Division hope that you never have to use such methods, but understand that the presence of such beings necessitate precaution.

Revenants

Vengeful ghosts are unfortunately a common paranormal sight in today's economic climate. We suggest taking preventative measures to halt the production and propagation of the soul staying after death. Our research teams have determined that a 1-hour pizza party once per three years can stop such development.

Signs of such a spirit's presence on your station include:

• Cracked windows and damaged electronic equipment.
• Change in crew hair color and mood.
• Ghostly whispers throughout the station.
• Floating purple figures present on the station.

In the event of a spirit assaulting your station, follow the proper procedures:

• Coordinate with your station's religious expert for supplies of holy water and salt. Spread these around crucial areas to protect your crew.
• Apply physical trauma to the spirit.
• If you start to feel irregular emotions, seek medical attention immediately.
• If the spirit dissolves into sparking residue, SPREAD RESIDUE IMMEDIATELY.

Vampires

Vampires are a social type of paranomal curiosity that have troubled stations in the past. While they mimic human behaviors, sometimes even to the point of passing off as members, it is important to remember they are not human, cannot be employed under Nanotrasen legally.

Modus operandi

Below lists the common habits of this threat. Unreliable evidence may be used to draw suspicion on someone, but to close a case you will need a collection of reliable signs which can together create a solid case that goes beyond a reasonable doubt.

Inhuman Strength	Some vampires are known to possess incredible strength, punching people across the room or breaking handcuffs with sheer force.	Reliable, defenses may include genetics.
Vampire Lair	Vampires commonly create lairs, which includes a variety of abnormal structures including altars, thrones, and vampiric candles.	Reliable with photographic/fingerprint evidence.

Crisis Response

In the event of vampires on your station, follow the proper procedures:

• Coordinate with your station's spiritual advisor on acquiring Nanotrasen approved religious equipment.
• Sharpen a wooden stake and stab into the vampire's heart.
• Ingest a meal rich in garlic; consider pure garlic juice if available on your station.
• Ensure that your station's medbay has a healthy supply of blood and saline to counteract vampire attacks.
• Destroy all vampire paraphernalia immediately.
• Apply mindshields to any and all crew. Apply mindshields by force to those loyal to the vampires.
