why there was space in the first place

Showing that there's space outside of the department/room bring bearings for the newbie much easier, which is why I kept about half-a-space-tile where there is space. When a complete newbie (who are the clear majority of users looking at the location-pages) sees a room shaped like the goodcrop, they would probably have to look for it much more as opposed when they know it's surrounded by space.
