Virology Policy
- Viro diseases, when injected into someone else and with fluid or under transmission, don’t fall under this jurisdiction, unless they somehow spread rapidly (which is not out of the question). Treat those as if they were chems injected by a chemist. This table applies to active symptoms on contagious diseases
- If a disease is released accidentally in a plausible way (people coming into viro without proper protection when viro says it’s dangerous, etc) it is IC. However, virologists who do things like taking infected people out in the open, or get infected and run to chem for a cure, should be noted and bwoinked- this is a possible way to grief, though it could be an accident as well. It may be wise to check say logs as well.
- If a disease viro has not created is on the station, and it has been made knowledgeable, viro IS valid, unless viro is actively working to cure it! At this point, breaking into viro to valid hunt them is not legal, but if they are outside of viro or medical in general and not distributing or producing cure, they ARE valid.
Symptoms that are not self-antag and do not make viro valid
- Bee Infestation (if 14 resistance threshold is met)
- Eternal Youth
- Inorganic Biology
- Mind Restoration
- Nano-Symbiosis (Valids viro if negative nanites are going about)
- Necrotic Metabolism
- Nocturnal Regeneration
- Plasma Fixation
- Radioactive Resonance
- Regen Coma
- Starlight Condensation
- Self Respiration
- Sensory Restoration
- Silicolysis (Makes viro valid to scientists)
- Tissue Hydration
- Viral Evolutionary Acceleration
- Viral Self-Adaptation
- Plasma Fixation
Symptoms which make the viro valid on LRP but are self-antag on MRP
If a viro releases a deliberately annoying disease using these, treat these as the first tier of self-antag (REMEMBER SYMPTOMS HAVE NO EFFECT AND DO NOT COUNT IF NEUTERED)
- Alopecia
- Coughing (below 10 resistance)
- Dizziness
- Facial Hypertrichosis
- Fever (below 10 resistance)
- Headache
- Itching
- Metabolic Boost
- Pierrot’s throat below 15 resistance
- Revitiligo (You are free to adminbus virologists who release a disease containing this with no other purpose, unless they be a non conversion antag.)
- Shivering
- Sneezing
- Toxolysis
- Vitiligo
- Wizarditis (If no thresholds are met)
- SBG syndrome
Symptoms that are always self-antag
Jobban viros who release these as nonantag. Those colored in red can be lethal, and those colored in dark red should be treated like any other high-profile grief* (REMEMBER SYMPTOMS HAVE NO EFFECT AND DO NOT COUNT IF NEUTERED)
- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
- Alkali perspiration
- Vomiting
- Weight Loss
- Autophagocytosis Necrosis
- Heart Disease(when coded)
- Bee Infestation(Under 14 res)
- Choking
- Irradiant Cells
- Deoxyribonucleic Acid Saboteur
- Deafness
- Coughing (Above 10 resistance)
- Hyphema
- Narcolepsy
- Voice change
- Necrotizing Fasciitis
- Neural Decay
- Spontaneous Combustion
- Confusion
- Ducatopod
- Fever, if it meets 10 resistance
- Hallucigen
- Voice change under 14 transmission
- Wizarditis (If any thresholds are met)
- Pierrot’s at 15 resistance or higher
- Beesease (under 14 resistance)
Scorched Earth
In certain situations, such as conversion antags taking over the station, a viro can resort to scorched earth tactics. Generally, allow them nonlethal but debilitating diseases when conversion antags are confirmed and somewhat prevalent, and from the lethals when conversion antags seriously endanger the station. Viros CAN save rounds with indiscriminate murder if it becomes necessary. Treat them as you would someone maxcapping the cult.
