Guide To Robotics
As a Robotocist you're role aboard the station involves the following responsibilities;
- Building and Maintaining AI controlled Cyborgs.
- Choosing from a variety of Bots to automatize certain station tasks.
- Helping fix damaged IPC units.
- Putting together Exosuits to
instill fear in your enemieshelp match the threat of a situation and give power to the crew. - Ordering Core's from Cargo and constructing Modsuits for the station's departments.
If you need a reminder on what you should and shouldn't be doing as a Roboticist, be sure to check out the relevant Standard Operating Procedure. Your general task's include maintaining the health, and function of not only IPC, but Cyborg units aboard the station. Given your access to tools, Medical will often leave bodies of IPC players in your office, and their repair, same with busted up cyborg units will be relying on YOU to fix them and get them functional. More then keeping the station robotics alive, you have access to the stations materials and tools, and are able to in your spare time use them to build Mechanical Exosuits, and Mini Bots who can automate station tasks such as cleaning or firefighting, as well as creating unique and useful Modsuits.
Your Lab And Its Machines
The Robotics Lab is generally split into 3 distinct area's each with their own dedicated use;
Charging Bay

- A simple subsection of the Robotics Lab, The Charging Bay is often fitted with a public access shutter, to give increased ease of access to Exosuits and Cyborgs to chargers, but to stop unnecessary crew from entering of your lab to a dedicated space.
Cyborg Recharging Units : Each charging bay should have several of these, which can be closed with a Robotic inside, like a IPC or Cyborg and start recharging their internal batteries.
Mech Recharging Port : Lining up a Exosuit with the Recharging Port will automatically start filling its batteries, with the Console being able to view the power consumption & battery level of the Exosuit.
Repair Bay
- Fitted with the similar technology as the station Medbay, each Robotics Lab comes fitted with a surgical wing, and necessary tools. While its primary focus is the tending and revival of IPC's, many ambitious Roboticists have set up side businesses revolving around Implants, printable parts from a Exosuit Fabricator that while inserted into people, are capable of giving them numerous benefits.
Morgue Tray : The formal storage for bodies, corpses placed in here will not rot or deteriorate. Ideal storage for dead crew after having their brains inserted into new silicon bodies.
Operating Table and Computer: A patient lying on an operating table will have their vital signatures displayed on an adjacent Operating Console with instructions about ongoing surgeries being displayed.
Augmentation Manipulator : An exclusive machine to Robotics that will let you paint Cyborg Limbs into preset departmental colors.
General Lab
- Beyond the subsections often separated by shutters, airlock or a windoor the rest of your lab acts as storage for various parts, and materials. The main space of your lab are home to the most important machines for a Roboticist and are vital to the job.

Exosuit Fabricator : The main machine used in Robotics work, this machine is linked to the R&D servers and what it can print is largely dependent on what is researched. With the required technologies researched, this machine is capable of printing: Cyborg parts and upgrades, Exosuits and their tools, cybernetic organs, positronic brains and so much more.
Ectoscopic Sniffer : This small machine can often be found ontop of the Circuit Imprinter. Whenever a ghost clicks on the Ectoscopic Sniffer it'll broadcast a message, and send it to the science radio channel alerting any Roboticst or available Scientist that a player wants to become a positronic brain
.
Circuit Imprinter : A universal printer for station machine circuits. Useful when providing spare parts critical for machine building, but essential for printing Exosuit Control and Weapon boards.
Robotics R&D Console : The Robotics Lab's access to the R&D server. This computer functions the same as the one in Research and Development, it can be used to research new technodes or check on whats been researched. Cyborg, Exosuit, Modsuits and Inorganic Organs are all locked behind various technodes, making it important at times to research these technologies as a Roboticist before beginning construction.
RoboDrobe : The Roboticist's exclusive clothing vendor! Includes the most fashionable garments for your average techengineer.
IPC Maintence
Paramedics are just as likely to drag a dead silicon to Robotics as they are Medbay, making fixing dead or damaged IPCs an important part of the job.
Standard Repair
Fixing an IPC can be done one of two ways;
- Brute Damage - This can be fixed by welding the IPC chassis
- Burn Damage - Replacing burnt wires with a Cable Coil restores this damage type.
A dead IPC should reboot once its damage has been fixed, so simply target damaged parts and apply the relevant repair to them till they restart.
Virus Infection
IPCs are immune to most viral infections, one symptom Biometallic Replication can cause them to infect IPCs. Virology has been largely removed in beestation however.
Brain Damage & Toxin
In the case an IPC suffers from toxin or brain damage/traumas one needs to apply Solder or System Cleaner respectively
Organ Replacement
In the event that an IPC suffers organ damage or loses an organ, it may need to be replaced. IPC organs are replaceable using the Template:Something
IPC organs can be printed in the Exosuit Fabricator once researched. An IPC brain can be removed using this surgery and, as a reminder, ```IPC brains are located in their chest```
Robotic Relevant Surgeries
As a Roboticist you will occasionally be responsible for conducting surgery, and like most surgeries they can be iniated by placing
drapes over the part of the body being operated on.
Prosthesis Organ Replacement
- Rather then the regular Organ Manipulation surgery, IPC's require a unique surgery, this can be done to remove faulty organs, or an IPCs brain.
Target: Head, chest, groin, arms
Carbon Brain Removals
- A brain is capable of being inserted into a
MMI, these are compatable with silicon bodies such as Cyborgs or Ai Cores and as a roboticist you will at times be responsible for converting crew into cybernetic workers.
If a head isnt attached to a body, a sharp object such as a

DO NOT USE A SAW TO CUT OFF HEADS WITHOUT SURGERY. Removing a brain without surgery in this fashion can result in brain death or damage. In this case you may need to ask the Chemist for Mannitol as being splashed on a brain will repair the organ.
Limb Augmentation
- This surgery can replace parts with robotic ones. The head, torso, arms, and legs can all be augmented. Robotic limbs are tougher, susceptible to EMP's and need Standard Repairs to be fixed. A robotic torso makes you immune to appendicitis and xeno larva.
Upgrades People! Upgrades!
Target: Head, chest, legs or arms
