Discord Moderator-Specific Conduct (WIP)

  • Don't jump straight to banning. You are expected to use the ?warn command for most offences, and delete the offending message(s).
  • Mutes are handled automatically whenever a user gains three warning points. The default points value per ?warn is 1. While you can specify different point values using the command, do not do this unless the offence is very minor (give a 0 point warning) or very major, such as using exploits to distribute viruses.
  • Ask the admin team before handing out a discord ban. They should only be used for repeat offenders, ban evaders, alt accounts or other severe offenders such as accounts distributing illegal content.
  • Do not leak the contents of #moderators or #mod-log.
  • You are expected to handle discord mute/ban appeals created by people you muted, caused to be automatically muted or banned. You are expected to follow the same guidelines as admins handling ban appeals.
  • Do not abuse your ability to lock, unlock, retitle and recategorise threads, or your ability to instantly hide posts. Use them when appropriate (locking ban appeal, moving a thread to the correct category, etc.)

Demotion Procedure

  • A report may be opened against you on the forums, or you may be internally investigated by the admin team.
  • If you are found guilty of a conduct breach you will be demoted immediately or warned, depending on severity.

Event Organiser-Specific Conduct:

  • Do not enable your in-game powers when not running or helping to run an event or mini-event.
  • If an admin asks for your help in running an event or mini-event you may enable your in game powers to do so, provided you are not participating in the round.
  • A mini-event is defined as a round-affecting use of admin powers in round that does not significantly change the overall flow of the round. Examples would include: A visit by an admiral, spawning a small number of non round ending antagonists or loading an away mission.
  • An event is defined as any use of admin powers which significantly changes how the round plays out. Examples would include: Nations, running an out of rotation game mode or spawning conversion/round ending antags.
  • Before you run an event or mini event you must remove yourself from the round on a permanent basis and not re-enter the round, unless you doing so is part of the event. You may then enable your in-game powers.
  • Before you run an event or mini event you must hold a vote, in which you tell people what the (mini)event is, any relevant information they need for it to run smoothly, as well as how likely it is to result in death/destruction/antags getting screwed over. If your event requires the element of surprise (such as xenos) you may conceal information about what the event is exactly. If you receive a majority approval from the vote you may hold the event or mini-event.
  • Do not lie or be deliberately misleading about the event details in the vote.
  • If you wish to run a full event, you must also get the permission of a senior or head admin **BEFORE** you hold the event. If your event involves a temporary exemption from certain server rules, you must get the permission of a head admin or the host first.
  • After the event is concluded, you must disable your in-game powers.

Demotion Procedure

  • A report may be opened against you on the forums, or you may be internally investigated by the admin team.
  • If you are found guilty of a conduct breach you will be demoted immediately or warned, depending on severity.
