Onboarding Blurb

Welcome to the team! We're happy to have you onboard. You've managed to survive the trials and tribulations of your admin application, but that's only half the battle.

Over the next few days, we're going to go over some basics of being an admin, and you'll shadow a Head Admin/Senior Admin to gain experience.

You'll be guided through the tools, starting an ticket with someone, and how to resolve issues to the best of your ability. Once you've shown that you're getting the hang of the basic tools, you'll be off on your own to help make the server a better place!

Any @Senior Admin should be able to set you up with permissions in game

While training:

  • When their perms are granted, make sure they are temporary until training is complete. Do not grant permanent permissions for training purposes.

General Guide for in round training

  • Admin-Trainer finds a rulebreak, or someone ahelps
  • Admin-Trainer guides the Candidate to start the bwoink or answer it, guides them through it in ASAY. If there's something that needs fixing, the Admin-Trainer can do it
  • Rinse/repeat a few times, gives them a good experience with ticket conduct, makes them more confident
  • Socratic method might be useful, where you're asking them questions and leading them about how something should be handled
  • The Candidate should start telling the Admin-Trainer how the situation should be resolved
  • Admin-Trainer guides them through more or different admin/player interactions, maybe a minor event
  • Once both the trainer and trainee are confident that everything is understood, permanent moderator status is applied.
